Marching Band/Pep Band/Wind Ensemble are combined events:

This year's Field Show, Night Watch, by Jay Dawson will feature percussion, flute solos, a lot of volume promises to please the ears!  

Rehearsals will be Tuesday & Thursday Rehearsals--6-8PM/CHS Music Room

Come to each rehearsal with music, instrument, marching shoes and drill design.

A select ensemble for intermediate and advanced instrumental musicians. Students will refine their musical skills and review tone production-techniques and theory. This ensemble performs in both marching/pep events and in concert events. Performances and participation are major portions of the grading criteria.

Prequisite: Spring and/or Fall audition

Open to instrumentalist who have taken at least 2 years of middle school or one year of high school band. Experience in high school concert band and marching band for one year is mandatory (with few exceptions). This ensemble is intended for the advanced instrumentalist who can prove their proficiency in scale memorization, sight reading, and musical expression/maturity (grades 9-12).

Who is in Wind Ensemble?

Usually, grades 10-12 with a few Freshmen who have passed the audition.

What happens in Wind Ensemble?

Concert band, pep band, percussion ensemble are emphasized in this course. Marching techniques and music memorization are required components.

What's the best part?

-Usually a smaller class of highly 'able' and 'focused' instrumentalists who are given time to focus their skills the realm of difficult muisc and memorization.

-Generally, more flexibility is given for sectionals and small group rehearsals.

-Group bonding!
