Director's Information
Mr. Lewis the Director of Music at Cedacrcest High School. His duties as director of the progressive Cedarcrest Music Department include instruction of six (6) performance groups and two (2) elective/arts courses--Guitar Class and Music History. Mr. Lewis enjoys the upbeat tempo of the Cedarcrest Music Program, especially the expansion of Percussion Ensemble, the Color Guard, and the active music officers who "make things happen!"
A native of Spokane, WA, Mr. Lewis graduated in 1990 from Mead High School then moved to Ellensburg, WA where he earned his bachelors degree in Music Education (K-12/Broad Area) at Central Washington University. During his undergraduate studies, he was as an LGA (Living Group Advisor) in the CWU Residence Halls, directed Church Choir in Yakima, and became involved in outdoor church camping (rec & Ed. programs). After a few classes of post grad work, Lewis was offered a part-time positon in Leavenworth, WA (Cascade HS/Icicle Creek MS) as the choral and general music teacher. After directing music for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat" at Cascade HS, Mr. Lewis was hired to direct music at Cedarcrest High School and Carnation Elementaryto teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade general music at Carnation Elementary and Band/Choir at Cedarcrest. Currently, Mr. Lewis is instructing 7 music courses at Cedarcrest.
Mr. Lewis is an active member in MENC (Music Educators National Conference) and WMEA (Washington Music Educators Association).
